Fiona has had experience of co-running many flute and guitar courses in a range of venues since 2001: Oxfordshire, England, the Dordogne, France and Marrakech, Morocco and Portugal.
Co-organised with Julie Wright and Atarah Ben-Tovim, MBE, the highly successful, inspirational, fun and very popular Oxfordshire courses ran for five years. Likewise, the relaxing French courses were set in idyllic surroundings with wonderful cuisine and time to soak up French culture in the local markets.
The course in Morocco was fabulous fun with plenty of music making, time to experience the beauty of the Atlas mountains, haggle for bargains in the souks, and relax with late night spiced tea in the old town square.
The courses catered for a wide range of ability and experience. Guitar masterclasses, technique sessions and small guitar ensembles were organised for guitarists alone and each guitar player was teamed with one or two flute players for the duos, depending whether the course was large or of a more intimate nature.
In addition to running flute and guitar courses, Fiona currently teaches on international guitar courses during the summer. She has been a regular at the Oatridge Guitar Festival in Scotland and has taught for several summers at the International Festival at West Dean, Chichester.
